Minutes Review December Committee Meeting:

Minutes were distributed and reviewed, approved (Garwood motioned, Swart seconded).

 

Current Events :

         Saturday night, January 19th:  Vertical Adventures

         Sunday, January 27th: Joe & John Clark Eagle Scout Court of Honor @ Sunbury United

Methodist Church

         Sunday evening, January 27th:  Seabase Planning Meeting

         Scout Sunday, February 10th:  Need a good turn-out this year.

         February 16th Ski  Trip Outing:  Deposit money is due.

         Saturday morning, February 23rd, CPR Class:  HRUMC Congregation and Troop adults

are encouraged to

sign up.  The Church is paying for materials.

         Saturday, March 15th, Merit BadgeDay:  DelawareJVS North Cost $15 before March 1;

         Sunday, March 30th, Oceanography Merit Badge@Columbus Zoo:  So far only 3 scouts are

attending

(Aaron Buskirk, Forge Garrabrant, Nathan Randall).

         May (Mothers Day Weekend) Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee in Canada: 

 Deposit $50

for troop attendance authorized by Committee (see notes below).  Right now passports are not

required; keeping tabs on that requirement.

 

 

Scoutmaster Reports:

         CPR Training:  Church will pay for materials for the course; limited to 18 students.  Delaware

County EMS will teach.

         Turtle Hike:  2009 Plan 6 months in advance.

         High Adventure treks planned for the coming years:

o         2008:  Sea Base Additional costs for transportation will also be required and will be determined

through some research and strategy meetings to be scheduled in the next few months. 

o        2009:  Philmont or Tinnerman

o        2010:  National Scout Jamboree

         Arrow of Light Ceremonies coming up:  Scoutmaster needs older scouts to conduct ceremony

for Westerville pack and Pack 347, February and March 2008.

Treasury Reports:

Treasury Reports Presented: Reports distributed to committee present.  

 

Receipts during meeting:

          $273 fees toward skiing (February) and Vertical Adventures (January) outings

          $60 from Hal Holland toward ski trip & Vertical Adventures

          $40 Vertical Adventures from Randalls

          $80 toward reserves for Nate & Munsel Randall

          $45 Ski Trip / Vertical Adventures for Andy Garwood

          $20 cash Vertical Adventures from Kessler

 

Reimbursements:

          $50 from Tim Kessler (put toward Nathan & Tims ski trip charges)

          $107.78 transfer from unit equity to Tim Kessler reserves (from November 2007 meeting

minutes)

          $22.22 McCaulla advancement costs

          $35.01 Rick Garrabrant Bushwhack Transportation(Gas)

          $40.00 Food Reimbursement Contraband Campout

Tom Isner had to back out of Seabase trip, with John Stenger taking his place.  Tom has asked

that the fees paid so far be split between a donation to the Troop and other half split between

Sam & Toms reserve accounts.  John Stenger will have to pay the full amount required so far

directly to the Troop.

 

SPL Reports:

Nate Kessler (standing in for Dillon Stenger) reports:

January 22:  First Aid meeting winter.  Individual patrol leaders are responsible for teaching to the

patrol.

January 29:  Winter survival shelter andheat reflector; bring materials to the meeting needed to build.

February 5:  Scout Sunday practice; Capture the flag.  Senior Patrol leader and patrol leader election.  

Uniform inspection for the Scout Sunday.

February 12:  Game day looking for a facility to play basketball. UPDATE:  OA elections will be

held instead.

 

New Business:

A pack member is able to get flagpoles at a 35% discount.  Committee tabled the purchase for now.

 

Brick paver for HRUMC We can get the scout symbol along with the words:   A Scout is Reverent

Troop 347.

The meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting is scheduled for February 19th, 2007.
